HOTEL POLICY/HOUSE RULES:
Welcome to Highland Lodge! We strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and friendly hotel experience. The following Hotel Policy/House Rules have been established based on industry standards, management, and operational procedures. These Hotel Policies/House Rules are considered a part of our reservation agreement with you. As our hotel guest, by booking a room with us you are agreeing to abide by all of our Hotel Policy/House Rules, terms and conditions, and procedures. These Hotel Policy/House Rules are presented here to help promote our guests’ safety and enjoyment and to ensure that each guest is aware of the understanding between the Highland Lodge and the guest.
100% SMOKE-FREE:
Highland Lodge has been 100% Smoke-Free since it was built. We do not permit smoking of tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs/substances, cigars, e-cigarettes, or vaping. For the safety of our other guests please refrain from burning incense, cooking, or grilling. Guests are encouraged to notify staff immediately if they smell cigarette, marijuana, or other objectionable odors. There is a smoking area just outside the East entrance of the hall adjacent to the parking lot.

GUARANTEED RESERVATIONS:
All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. Guest making reservation must be 18 years old and older. We accept all major credit cards. We will process 100% of the room total on your credit card at the time you make your reservations. This guarantees your reservations & makes the check in process when you arrive quick and easy. Please make sure to receive a reservation confirmation email when you make a reservation. Reservations must be canceled at least 14 days, hotel local time, prior to your arrival date, in order to avoid a cancellation fee of one nights stay per room plus tax. Reservations will be held until 11:00 AM the morning following your scheduled arrival date. If you have not checked in by that time or attempted to cancel your reservation, a NO-SHOW charge of the entire balance owed for the stay will be charged to your credit card and/or no refund will be given if the balance of the stay was already paid in full. Highland Lodge is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes.

GUEST REGISTRATION:
Guests must be at least 18 years of age to check in at Highland Lodge. We require valid contact information from the guest making the reservations including first and last name, address, phone number, and signature. Guests are required to confirm their identity by providing their valid government-issued photo identification (State driver’s license, passport, etc.) on request. The names of all guests occupying the room must be registered (ATCP 72.16). Information regarding your license plate/car description is also gathered at check-in for security.

CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Early check-in may be available based on availability and in any event no earlier than 12 PM of the same day. If you need early check-in please contact us at (920) 374-8132.
LATE CHECK IN:
Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. If you know you will be arriving after 9:00PM we ask that you call (920) 374-8132 to specify your approximate arrival time. We understand that flight delays, and traffic can delay your arrival, but please be courteous to our staff and other guests and call with an ETA. Arrivals after 9:00PM without a courtesy call are subject to a $20.00 late arrival fee.

CHECK-OUT TIME: 11:00 AM
Late checkout is available, based on availability. In no event shall a late checkout extend beyond 2:00 PM. Those guests staying past 2:00 PM shall be subject to an additional fee of one night sat the applicable rate plus tax.

SPECIAL REQUESTS:
We will make every effort to honor special requests such as a specific floor or room number, adjoining rooms, etc. upon your arrival. All special requests are noted on reservations and we will do our best to accommodate them. However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance.
ADA/HANDICAPPED ROOMS: Highland Lodge is handicapped accessible. One ADA-compliant guest room is available and should be reserved in as far in advance as possible; please contact the hotel directly.

PETS: No pets are allowed in the Lodge or in the rooms. Service Dogs are welcome in accordance with federal law. You will be required to keep your service dog in your care and control at all times as outlined by the ADA. Service dogs are not to be left in the rooms unattended. The Service dog walking area is between the garage and the street. You are responsible to pick up after your service dog. Federal law does allow us to ask you to remove your service animal from the premise if it becomes a nuissance or interferes with other guests ability to enjoy their accomadations. Additionally, owners of service animals are financially responsible for any and all damage caused by the animal, and additional cleaning fees for anything beyond hair, dander, or shed left by the animal. We do not allow comfort animals, emotional support animals, or therapy dogs. We would be happy to refer you to one of three excellent boarding kennels in the area for your pet.
PAYMENT:
All reservations must be paid in full with a valid major credit card. We accept all major credit cards.
CHECKS AND CHECK CASHING:
We accept checks drawn from banks in Sheboygan or Manitowoc County only. Non-local checks and foreign currency are not accepted. We do not provide check cashing services. If you need a check cashed please contact Cleveland State Bank, 1220 W Washington St, Cleveland, WI 53015. There is a cash machine located at Bonde's Gas Station on North Avenue.
RESERVATION AND PAYMENT FOR GUESTS BY PRIVATE THIRD PARTIES:
Generally, third party payment is not permitted. In the case of paying for a family member if you will not be physically present at the hotel, we require 24 hour prior completion and approval of a Credit Card Authorization form. You will be responsible for any and all damages and loss. We reserve the right to refuse reservation at any time for any reason.

TAX EXEMPT GUESTS:
Guests with GSA payment cards will be taxed or exempt in accordance to their individual card status. If tax-exempt status cannot be verified at check-in you will be charged tax until verification is made.

RATES:
All rates are quoted in United States Dollars, plus tax. Rates as advertised on the Highland Lodge website or any other website or promotional material are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the hotel’s discretion. Rates are based on standard room (1-2 occupancy) or Suite (1-4 occupancy), queen handicapped (1-2) occupancy, and are subject to availability. Roll-a-ways and or cribs based on availability, are subject to a $10 fee per night.

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE:
Highland Lodge is privately owned and operated. We reserve the
right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws. Highland Lodge has a zero-tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the State of Wisconsin and the owners of the hotel.
In addition to violations of other policies stated, Highland Lodge will refuse service or evict a guest for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests.
QUIET HOURS: 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact Highland
Lodge staff immediately. Televisions, voices, or other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times. Doors should be opened and closed quietly. No congregating or running in halls.
VISITORS: No visitors after 9:00 PM. Visitors must notify Highland Lodge staff upon their arrival. Visitors must be accompanied by the registered guest at all times. Visitors are not allowed to use guest amenities including the continental breakfast, or Wi-Fi. As a registered guest, you are responsible for your visitor at all times.
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST:
Our Continental Breakfast is free to registered guests only. Breakfast is served seven days a week from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Visitors may not join a registered guest for a free breakfast.
DISCOUNTS:
We honor all active or retired military personnel and first responders (Police, Fire, and EMS). Military personnel, veterans, and first responders presenting valid proof of service will receive a 10% discount on their stay. We do not offer discounted room rates for participation or employment in organizations such as AAA, AARP, government employees, etc.
CANCELLATION:
Reservations must be canceled at least 14 days, hotel local time, prior to your arrival date, in order to avoid a cancellation fee of one nights stay per room plus tax. Reservations will be held until 11:00 AM the morning following your scheduled arrival date. GROUP RESERVATIONS & WEDDING BLOCKS:
Group reservations for special local events and wedding blocks are welcome! Preferred rates apply during special local events, contact Highland Lodge for rates and details. Reservations for large blocks/groups or the entire hotel are payable at the time of booking.

DO NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS:
To provide all of our guests with an exceptionally clean and safe hotel experience, we provide daily housekeeping on request. If you would like your linens changed and towels replenished please hang the “Please clean room” sign on your door. If you do not wish to have your room cleaned please hang the “Do not disturb” sign on your door. Our Housekeeping Staff may be required to enter the room at subsequent times to clean the room, check for safety, and verify the condition of the room. Management reserves the right to enter a room with a known status of “do not disturb” for reasonable purposes, such as an emergency, housekeeping, maintenance, verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Hotel Policy/House Rules. In the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to aid in eviction. The right to privacy ends when a Hotel Policy/House Rule is broken. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to hotel property and rooms of evicted guests.
CHILDREN:
Well-behaved children of all ages are welcomed. Children aged 12 and under stay for free when sharing a room with one or more paying adult(s), using existing bedding. As the parents, guardians, or chaperones of children, you are personally and legally responsible for and must supervise them at all times. For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the hotel property unsupervised.
ADDITIONAL BEDDING: A limited number of rollaway beds and baby cribs are available upon request. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. The charge is $10.00 each, plus tax per night. Maximum capacity of baby crib or roll-a-way is one (1) per room. For safety, pillows are not provided for cribs.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY:
Room occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions. Standard QueenRoom maximum occupancy is 3 persons, Queen Handicapped maximum occupancy is three persons, Two room Suite maximum occupancy is five persons. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent another guest room for proper accommodations.
ROOM KEY CARD:
Room key cards are issued to the registered guest(s). No room key card's will be issued to youth under 18 at any time. I.D. is required if you have lost your key card and require a duplicate. A fee of $5.00 will be charged for each lost key card. Please return the room key cards to the front desk at Check-out.
HOUSEKEEPING/ROOM INSPECTION:
Housekeeping is available daily between the hours of 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rooms are cleaned and inspected and a detailed log is maintained on each room and linen counts. Housekeeping and Hotel staff are trained and skilled in identifying the odors from prohibited items. If our investigation concludes that you have smoked in your room, cooked, or brought a prohibited item into our facility, you will be assessed a fee for cleaning up to $200.00 and/or replacement cost of missing or damaged items.
LINEN CHANGING:
Your comfort is very important to us. For guests staying multiple nights, bed linen and used towels are changed as requested. To have your bed linens changed and towels replenished please place the “please clean room" door hanger on the outside of your room. We are committed to protecting the environment, reusing bed linens and towels saves hundreds of pounds of detergent and gallons of water each year. Housekeeping will be happy to make your beds each day on request, if all personal items are removed. If Housekeeping is unable to change a bed due to personal items left on a bed, a note will be left.
LOST & FOUND POLICY:
Highland Lodge is not responsible for any item left behind by a guest. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately at (920) 374-8132 and we will make every effort to assist you in locating your lost item. However, any item with the exception of perishable items left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected, logged in, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to fourteen (14) days. Records of Lost & Found items are retained for one year. Reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has been found. Perishable items, underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded. We would be happy to return your lost item(s) to you by United States Postal Service. Sorry, no UPS or FED EX deliveries. Your credit card will be charged for packaging and postage.
FIREARMS AND WEAPONS:
The safety and security of our guests and staff is extremely important to us. Our Firearms and Weapons Policy is designed for the protection of our guests, vendors, staff, and owners. Highland Lodge recognizes that guests and vendors may legally possess firearms or weapons for a variety of legitimate purposes. This policy has been developed to create a safe environment by providing appropriate guidance over the custody of firearms and weapons on our property. Highland Lodge is private property. Guests, who are lawfully permitted to possess a firearm or weapon, may bring such onto our hotel property for
storage purposes only. There will be no permitted firearms allowed inside the building at any time for any reason. Any guest or visitor are personally responsible for the following:
• Guests must abide by all Federal, State, and local laws.
• Firearm and weapons must be appropriately registered.
• Firearms must be unloaded
• No cleaning of firearms is permitted on hotel property.
• Firearms and weapons must be safeguarded and secured in either a locked, hard sided firearm container or a soft gun case provided by the guest at all times and secured in their vehicle at all times while on the property.
Guests and vendors who fail to abide by our policy may be asked to leave the hotel premises, are subject to trespass and may be subject to further legal action. Exempted from this policy are law enforcement officers and designated military personnel who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties. No exemption to this policy is allowed for private persons, even those licensed and permitted to carry a firearm openly or concealed under local, state, or federal law, are exempt from this policy. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY OR FIRE:
Please notify Hotel staff in the event of a fire or other emergency. The hotel is fully equipped with smoke detectors and CO2 detectors. A map that shows emergency exits can be found on the back of your room door. Please review this important information.
NO IN-ROOM PARTIES:
Highland Lodge enforces a No In-Room Party Policy to ensure we can protect the hotel and our guests at all times. No parties, loud disturbances, and/or noise-nuisances are allowed or tolerated on these premises. In the event of a disturbance, one polite request (warning) will be given to reduce the noise. If our request is not followed, the guest will be asked to leave the hotel without refund. Registered guest(s) are responsible for all persons visiting. Non-Registered visitors are only permitted until 9:00 P.M.
FREE WiFi ACCESS:
Access to our WiFi is free for our registered guests. The hotel WiFi access code is subject to change without notice. WiFi signals are subject to change without notice depending on the room’s location, the status of our WiFi-equipment, and interference from other local wireless signals. Highland Lodge assumes no liability for guest use. Wi-Fi service is not guaranteed.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Highland Lodge makes its best efforts to ensure that all the information that appears on its website is accurate. However, no warranty, expressed or implied, is given that the information provided on this website is error free. Highland Lodge does not accept liability for any errors and/or omissions, and reserves the right to change the information published at any time and without notice.
ILLNESS AND EPIDEMICS:
Highland Lodge reserves the right to refuse accommodations to a guest arriving with a contagious disease. In cases where sickness occurs during the stay, please notify the Hotel staff. In the case of serious sickness, you may be requested to receive appropriate health care from a nearby health care facility. During epidemics we are entitled to employ precautionary measures within our judgment or as required by local authorities. We may charge you a room cleaning fee as we deem appropriate under the circumstances.
INFESTATION:
The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important to our guests. If you bring any infestation into your room or onto our hotel premises, we may charge you for any and all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.

PARKING AT OWN RISK:
All vehicle(s) must be listed on the registration at check-in. Parking for registered guest(s) is free. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner. Highland Lodge shall not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, or contents while operated or parked on the hotel property. If a vehicle is left in the hotel parking lot after the guest has departed without the written consent of the hotel, the hotel reserves the right to have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense. No vehicle repairs on hotel premises.

DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY:
You are liable for any damage whatsoever caused (whether by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room (s), hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. Highland Lodge reserves the right to retain your credit/debit card details as presented at registration and charge the credit/debit card such amounts as the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Highland Lodge as a result of damage or theft. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting a specialist to make the repairs and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
DAMAGE TO ROOM:
Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, art work, etc. will be charged at 100% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING:
Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe-polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair, or replacement of the damaged article. Black Makeup removal cloths and cleaning cloth kits have been provided for this purpose.
DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT:
Highland Lodge reserves the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion.
CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS TO THE HOTEL POLICY/HOUSE RULES:
Highland Lodge reserves the right to amend, modify, change, cancel, vary, or add to this Hotel Policies/House Rules or the arrangements and content featured on our Hotel website at any time without prior notice. Please check our website regularly for updates to Hotel Policy/House Rules. Any modification to these Hotel Policy/House Rules that occurs before your departure is considered a part of your reservations agreement with us. A copy of these Hotel Policy/House Rules is located on our website, in the Guest Room Notebook, and available from Hotel staff staff upon request.
